Tobacco & Tulle (Soivohle) lots of tobacco absolute, a touch of tuberose and ambergris (supposedly real, like Moby Dick’s). T&T smells of an old cigar humidor and bitter salty sea. It’s a very simple composition without a complex pyramid and synthetic tricks. But each of the ingredients is so complex and scrumptious in its own right anyway. Simply tricky.
Jasmin et Sigarettes (Etat Libre D’Orange) a synthetic version of a very tobacco perfume. Smells of a full ash tray, sweet jasmine and peach. Equally interesting but much more transparent and lighter compared to the Soivohle’s mix of absolutes.
